Valparaiso Police will be increasing patrols and targeting high traffic areas searching for aggressive drivers. This special enforcement will last for the next two weeks and it is a direct response from numerous complaints recently received of aggressive and erratic driving by motorists in the city.

Areas of enforcement will include the Valparaiso High School, with a special focus in the morning. Other areas of enforcement will include Lincolnway, Calumet Ave, State Road 49 and US 30. Motorists observed not wearing a seat belt, exceeding the posted speed limit or disregarding a traffic signal will be issued a traffic citation.

These extra patrols are designed to make the roadways throughout Valparaiso safer. The extra patrols are paid for by a grant through the Indiana Governor’s Council on Impaired and Dangerous Driving.
