St. Mary Medical Center is hosting a Quilts of Valor Veterans’ Day Celebration at 2 pm on Tuesday, November 11 in the hospital’s auditorium. The event will honor 13 local veterans who have been nominated through the Quilts of Valor Foundation. The Quilts of Valor Foundation seeks to honor and comfort Veterans, including those touched by war. Indiana State Coordinator Diana Richards of Quilts of Valor Foundation will present hand crafted, high quality quilts to veterans and thank them for their service in a moving, ceremonious presentation.
“These quilts are very symbolic for a lot of veterans,” said Richards who is also a respiratory therapist at St. Mary Medical Center. “When we present these quilts, you can see in their eyes, how much it means to them.”
