Oak Partners hosts many events throughout the year, and they just finished up with another. Their annual Summer Wines event took place in late August at their Crown Point location. This is what they call their “love events”. Basically it’s just a get together to have fun and enjoy the company of friends.
Nearly 100 people filled the Oak Partners office on a warm Thursday evening. Doors and windows were opened to let in the last of the warm weather as summer was coming to a close. Clients of Oak Partners mingled and ate delicious food (provided by Fahrenheit 212 in Crown Point) and waited to try wines that were picked out by Oak Partners staff from Wise Guy Liquors.
Before corks were popped, the market was on everybody's mind. Oak Partners Steve Kavois, when answering a question from the crowd, acknowledged it had been a “volatile” week but in the end the DOW and the S&P were up a percentage point so this was good news for everyone.
And then came the main event. Everyone was divided into three groups. One tried a sweet white, one tried a dry red, and the rest tried a dry white. After everyone had tried all three wines they came back to the main meeting area and grabbed a large glass and went back to their preferred wine station for a full glass of that wine.
“We think time with our clients is the most important thing,” Marc Ruiz, Senior Partner at Oak Partners said. “We want to hear about their concerns and interests. We chose what types of events to host based on what people like and don’t like.”
“We’ve been here before, and we like the wines that they bring to this,” Karen Kuyachich said. “Plus, we get to see the Oak family.”
Karen’s husband Marco echoed her saying, ”When we retired this was one of the first places we went.”
At the end of the night a special gift of very nice wine glasses was given to clients who referred people to Oak Partners. The next event coming up for Oak Partners is the annual Oaktober Fest on September 25, 2015. Don’t miss it!
