Sykes Strikes Out 8 as Vikings Beat Trojans 8-0

The Valparaiso High School baseball team won its fourth straight game by defeating the Trojans of Chesterton High School 8-0 on Wednesday at CHS.

Andrew Sykes threw a complete game, two-hit shutout while striking out eight in route to the win. Jeff Holmes continued his hot streak at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double, a run, and two RBI. Devin Bafia was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

The Vikings have Thursday off before they continue their road trip against Lake Central on Friday and Elkhart Memorial on Saturday, before returning to Viking Field to face Portage on Tuesday.
