“Friends of Fishing” and the Valparaiso Parks Department are co-sponsoring their annual “Take a Kid Fishing Event” on June 8th at Rogers Lakewood Park 5320 N. Meridian Road near Valparaiso.
You can pre-register for $5/child by June 7th (day of the event registration is $7/child). You can register by calling the Valparaiso Parks Department at 462-5144. Trophies go to big fish in Bass, Crappie, Bluegill and Catfish categories. Prizes for 2nd and 3rd place. Casting contest.
The event starts at 8am and is over at 12 noon. Fishing help is provided for those that need it.
