Teens Model Healthy Choices at Pure Passion for Fashion

A Positive Approach to Teen Health (PATH, Inc.) will present Pure Passion for Fashion on April 24 from 1-4 pm at Wheeler High School Auditorium.pure-passion-for-fashion The teen fashion show offers an innovative blend of trendy fashions from area retailers, dramatic skits, food, music, and a high energy message about confronting risky behavior.

The family event features male and female students from 15 area middle and high schools under the direction of Susan Bryschell, former professional model and current Director of Purdue North Central, and Ball State University drama student Stephen Grabek. Nationally-known speakers Jammal Lee and Adan Madrigal will provide commentary on making healthy choices regarding sex, drugs, alcohol, and relationships. Chesterton High School senior and Miss Indiana Teen USA 2010, Madeline Plesac will serve as event Mistress of Ceremonies.

Pure Passion for Fashion spotlights clothing that reflects modesty while making a fashion statement. The drama vignettes will tell the story of how immodest dress and peer pressure can lead to poor decisions and life altering consequences.

A Positive Approach to Teen Health (PATH, inc.) provides programming that equips teens to make healthy choices through life skill, relationship, and character education. Through presentations, inter-active workshops, assembly speakers, and community events, the organization impacts youth in Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Starke, Jasper, Newton, and Pulaski counties.

Pure Passion for Fashion culminates a week of special events sponsored by A Positive Approach to Teen Health. An April 20 professional seminar entitled “American Teens in Crisis VI” kicks off a series of in-school assemblies and parent workshops featuring Jammal Lee and Adan Madrigal.
