Wednesday, November 11, 2009 will be the 53rd Annual Band Parents Association Ham Dinner. This tremendous community event is vital to the support of our band program, which in turn is a boon not only to the students but the community at large.
This fundraiser is the largest such event for the band. The Ham Dinner proceeds benefit not only the High School , but the Valpo Middle Schools as well. This brings the total number of band students that benefit from the Valparaiso Band Parents Association fundraisers including the "Ham Dinner", to over 500 students. The monies are used to buy school instruments for students unable to buy or rent their own instruments, to transport the bands to various concerts and competitions, and pay for accompanists for students participating in the District and State Solo Competitions.
The 53rd Annual Ham Dinner is from 4:30 - 7:00 PM (dine in) and from 4:00 - 7:00 PM (carry out). Tickets for the dinner ($8.00 adult / $5.00 children under 12) are available from any VHS band student, or at the door the evening of the event.
