The Barbauld Agency, a local advertising and marketing agency based out of Valparaiso, garnered their first 2013 Hermes Creative Award in an international awards competition which recognizes excellence in the concepting, writing and design of traditional and emerging media.

The Hermes Creative Awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), an international organization consisting of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production and freelance professionals.

"This is quite an honor," says Chris Barbauld, President and Idea Man for The Barbauld Agency. "We are all very proud of this award as it reflects the talents, uniqueness and dedication of our gifted team members."

More than 5,600 entries were submitted for the Hermes Creative Awards 2013 competition. Winners were selected from 188 categories, with only 15 percent of entries recognized with the Platinum Award (the organization's top honor for the most outstanding entries) and only 19 percent of entries with the Gold Award (for entries that exceeded high industry standards). A list of Platinum and Gold winners can be found on the Hermes Creative Awards website at www.hermesawards.com.

The agency was awarded the gold for their direct mail piece entitled The Brand-Aid. The Brand-Aid is a super-sized Band-Aid measuring 2 feet long by 6 inches wide. This piece is used by The Barbauld Agency to attract new business. The front of the Band-Aid asks the question "Does your brand need a brand-aid?”.
