The Blessed Bless Others

Today was a food-pantry day at Housing Opportunities, and as you can imagine it was busy here as families were lining up to receive their groceries. housing-opportunities

A man and his two-year old son were in line. The young boy was dressed warm in his Spiderman hat and gloves. As the father and son came forward, HO employee Kathleen greeted the two by saying, “Well hello there Spiderman. Are you ready to get some groceries?” The boy’s father spoke up and said that they weren’t here to receive food again, but to deliver a thank-you card for the turkey and fixings that Housing Opportunities provided his family on Thanksgiving. Also, the man came to donate a set of Spiderman hat and gloves identical to those that his son was wearing.

You see, when he and his son were shopping at the dollar store, there was a 2 for $7 sale on sets of hats and gloves. Both were hoping that they could bless someone else as they had been blessed.

I think that I can speak for our team here at Housing Opportunities when I say that this story is not uncommon, and it is why we do what we do.
