The Caring Place Receives $5,000 Gift from National TJX Foundation

The National TJX Foundation recently partnered with local Marshalls in Valparaiso to give a generous gift of $5,000 towardsTJX-Foundation-and-The-Caring-Place The Caring Place’s 2010 Annual Campaign. This gift will support general operations in the shelter throughout the year.

The TJX Foundation focuses it’s charitable giving on programs that provide basic-need services to disadvantaged women, children and families in communities in which we do business. In 2008, The TJX Foundation, alone, supported close to 1,150 nonprofit organizations in the United States, not including many other organizations that the Company supports in Canada and Europe.

In 2009, The Caring Place served 109 adults for 2,382 bed days, and 107 children ages 18 years and younger for 1,663 bed days. The TJX Foundation’s contribution will assist in providing the necessities that the clients of The Caring Place need in the year to come, including safe shelter, case management, and legal advocacy. All services at The Caring Place are free of charge.
