The Lakes of Valparaiso Employee Spotlight: Tricia Toth

Tricia Toth, Leasing Agent at The Lakes of Valparaiso, has had a fulfilling professional career in the Northwest Indiana area. All of her pursuits so far have had one common goal: helping people.

Before finding her niche at The Lakes of Valparaiso about 15 months ago, Toth worked as a Marketing Director at Porter-Starke Services, led the banquet sales department at Sand Creek Country Club, served as Director of Marketing at Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County (now Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana), and even tried her hand at the real estate field at the McColly Real Estate Chesterton office.

“My position at The Lakes of Valparaiso combined all of my skills, and it was a perfect match with what I wanted to do in life. It’s a beautiful place, and I’m truly happy going to work each day,” Toth said.

Toth’s days never look exactly the same as she balances her time by talking with prospective residents, conducting tours, planning and hosting events for current residents, working and conversing with the maintenance staff to ensure all requests have been fulfilled or acknowledged, and, of course, getting to know the apartment complex’s residents.

“I wear a lot of hats as a leasing agent, but what’s truly most important is building relationships with residents and prospects. You really have to listen to their needs and wants, be proactive, and always follow up and follow through on your word,” she said.

Another great aspect of Toth’s workplace is her dedicated team members.

“I’m very blessed to work with people who have the same desires, goals, and work ethic because we are very focused on following through with our residents—we listen to them, and we work to do everything we can to keep things great for them,” Toth said.

Toth is still impressed by all that The Lakes of Valparaiso has to offer.

“My favorite part of my job is conducting showings and tours for prospects,” Toth said. “I drive them around the property in a golf cart and show them all of the amenities and different layouts we have to offer. Getting to see their faces light up when they see things such as our volleyball and basketball court, bark [dog] park, car care center, and more is something I thoroughly enjoy.”

In her free time, Toth enjoys cooking, visiting her home-away-from-home on the Tippecanoe River with her family, gardening, walking her dog, and spending quality family time.

Looking forward, Toth sees herself staying put at The Lakes of Valparaiso and embracing all aspects of the business.

“I would be happy to pursue a management role in the future, but I certainly want to maintain client interaction,” Toth said. “I’m very happy where I’m at.”
