The Lakes of Valparaiso offers sense of community through events

Everyone wants a comfortable place to call home. Once you set down roots, it can be all too easy to slip into a habit of nesting, particularly when you live in an apartment and your neighbors are closer in proximity, but harder to reach on a personal level. The Lakes of Valparaiso offers residents the opportunity to live in a comfortable, high-end setting and form connections with neighbors at frequent social gatherings.

The Lakes of Valparaiso hosts regular events each month. Whether they’re themed around holidays and seasons, or serve as a chance to bond over an activity, they always attract a steady number of residents. We’ve been on hand to cover quite a few of them, and we can attest! Many residents find themselves looking forward to spending time together at the next event, or making plans outside of the Lakes of Valparaiso event roster.

Just this month alone, the Lakes of Valparaiso has hosted four events, two of which are still on the horizon. Keeping in line with the desire for residents to unwind and mingle, the Lakes hosted a Mimosa Monday social hour that allowed participants to sip some refreshing adult beverages in the clubhouse after a long start to the week. In the same vein but with more of a seasonal and kid-friendly twist, the Lakes offered residents a chance to grab something sweet at their Caramel Apples & Cider hour.

Up next is another family-friendly gathering on October 25, a fall Movie Night Under the Stars. Just in time for the Halloween festivities to really take off, the Lakes is screening ‘Casper’ outside, weather permitting. The event presents a nice opportunity for families and couples to snuggle up under blankets and share a fun viewing experience with other residents.

And to pay homage to the feline residents who call the Lakes of Valparaiso home, the living community is celebrating National Cat Day on October 29. The Lakes staff will be giving out cat treats in the clubhouse all day while supplies last. After the splash that the Puppy Plunge event made in September, the Lakes team couldn’t discount other four-legged friends in the community.

While many of the events the Lakes team hosts present sweet perks to residents, many of them also encourage the residents to give back. Jumping right into November, the Lakes will start collecting non-perishable food items on behalf of the Helping Hands Food Pantry, a non-profit organization devoted to helping provide emergency food assistance to more than 1500 individuals in the Region. The drive will last through November 14, and is a fitting seasonal gesture.

Making plans when you’re settled can feel like a chore. The Lakes of Valparaiso makes it easy and fun to make plans, and the events hosted offer rare opportunities to bond with neighbors and enrich the immediate and surrounding community. For more information, visit http://www.lovthelife.com/
