The Mudathlon is More Than Mud, Obstacles and Fun

Gateway-for-Cancer-ResearchFunds Raised will Benefit The Gateway for Cancer Research

The Mudathlon is a run for adventure lovers, who don’t mind getting a little dirty. The run is known for its thick messy mud, challenging obstacles and for being loads of fun. This year’s Indianapolis Mudathlon www.mudathlon.com will also help support cancer research. Funds raised at the event will benefit The Gateway for Cancer Research℠.

The Gateway for Cancer Research is a non-profit organization that funds research into promising new treatment options with the aim of helping today’s cancer patients feel better, live longer and be cured now. “We’re honored to be the charity of choice for the event. What better way is there to fully enjoy an event than to know you are also making a difference in the fight against cancer,” said Lynette Bisconti, president of The Gateway.

"We're so pleased to be the charity of choice for the Indianapolis Mudathlon. It's such a fun event to be involved with and a great way for participants to enjoy themselves while also helping support cancer research." shared Karen Kay, Director of Development of The Gateway.

Jeff Graves, President of Mudathlon LLC shared his thoughts on the collaboration. "We partnered with Gateway for Cancer Research before at other running events. Adding a twist of mud was a great new addition! The opportunity to raise money for cancer research is an excellent cause and Mudathlon is thrilled to team up with Gateway."

The race will be held in Valparaiso, IN on Saturday, July 21 at the Graeber Family Farms. Participants can pick their start time between 8am and 2pm. Registration is $75 with a portion of the fee being donated to The Gateway. Participation is free if you choose to raise money for The Gateway.

Registration includes a great medal, Mudathlete® shirt, Mudathlon® Bandana, commemorative glass Mudathlon® beer mug, post-race feast, and a chip timed result. For registration information visit, demandcurestoday.org/teamdemand.

The Gateway also has partnered with races in other states, including the inaugural Hollywood Half Marathon in Los Angeles, the Georgia Publix Marathon in Atlanta, and Indiana and Wisconsin’s “The Cheesiest Marathon.”
