The SSCVA Makes a Sweet Stop at Albanese Candy Factory

The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority is turning 30 and throughout the month of July, they are celebrating with a road trip! The idea is to highlight business of all types that enhance tourism along the South Shore. The SSCVA’s Tour Mobile was, is, and will be making a trek across five counties to see that all of the celebratory bases are covered.

Day 8 (July 8, 2013) brought the Tour Mobile to the Albanese Candy Factory.

The Albanese Candy Factory was founded in 1983 and has been satisfying the sweet tooths of Hoosiers since 1997. Albanese is famous or their candy but most notably their gummy candies. It’s no wonder since they have been nominated (and the winner in 2002) for the Professional Candy Buyers Product of the Year award multiple times.

“The reason we chose the Albanese Candy Factory as one of our 30 Stops in 30 Days was because Albanese is one great multigenerational family-owned business that is critical to promoting great tourism especially here in the South Shore,”Speros Batistatos, President and CEO of the SSCVA said. “Albanese symbolizes family and they will treat you like one of their own so it was a no-brainer when we were choosing destinations that we needed to stop here. Whether it’s Albanese, White or Teibel’s; family-owned businesses are so important to as part of what we offer to a customer.”

The store was filled with people as they perused the colorful gummy creations and beautifully wrapped chocolates. Two lovely ladies from the SSCVA dutifully helped the customers fill out surveys and answer any and all questions about the 30 Stops in 30 Days Tour.

They will be entered to win the grand prize of a $2,000 gift card from Family Express.

Getting paid to party? Oh yeah!
