The Vale Park Animal Hospital Family Gets Festive

The staff of Vale Park Animal Hospital in Valparaiso recently went on an excursion to celebrate the holidays. They are all about working hard and playing hard so when they have a celebration they pull out all the stops.

The animal hospital closed its doors a little early on December 16 and everyone was excited to spend some quality time together.

“I’ve been going on these Christmas trips for the last 18 years,” Terri Sajdera said. “I love it. We don’t talk shop, just spend some quality time together being ourselves and celebrating the holidays.”

A bus was rented and everyone on staff dressed their best and climbed on board. They were toting prettily-wrapped Christmas presents and wearing huge smiles. There were two destinations on schedule for their trip: dinner at The Dish in Valparaiso, and then off to Chicago to see The Lion King live on stage (appropriate for an animal hospital, don’t you think?).

Vale-Park-holiday“I love theatre and when I heard that The Lion King was playing I just had to have it as part of our celebration,” Dr. Mary Ann Sheller said. “Our staff works hard all year long so we want to make sure that we let them know that they are appreciated.”

The excitement was palpable as cheers and laughter could be heard coming from the bus as it pulled out of Vale Park Animal Hospital’s parking lot. Let the celebrating begin!

It’s wonderful to see such a hard-working group of people get some time to relax and just enjoy each other and the holiday season.
