At the IU Northwest Regional Science Olympiad held on Saturday, February 23, Thomas Jefferson came in 1st out of 12 teams, including a very good Chesterton team. TJ won 16 firsts, 6 seconds, 1 third, and 2 fourth places.
The top four teams advance to State Competition at IU Bloomington on March 16, with the winning team advancing to National Competition at Wright State, Ohio, in May.
The Science Olympiad is: Nick Bluhm, Claire Bartusch, Zhuri Bryant, Jacob Dickens, Joey Lavalley, Allison Skadberg, Brigitte Frazee, Colin Topping, Luke Sanders, Joe McMurtey, Malika Saxena, Charlie Trowbridge, Tim Henderson, Megan Rahn, Abby Mitchell, and Melissa Piper. Coaches are Richard Bender and Carol Haller.
