Three Chesterton Artists Exhibit Work with NWI High School Art Teachers at IUN

HS-Teacher-Art-Exhibit-2013Three artist teachers with Chesterton connections gathered with many others from Northwest Indiana at the opening reception of an exhibit of their personal work on Friday, June 7th. The exhibit showcases the work of 20 other regional high school art teachers.

David Klamen, Chairman of Fine Arts at IUN states "The teachers in the region have traditionally been a remarkable group of artists creating their own artworks while accepting the demanding task of growing increasing levels of visual literacy in younger students." Gallery curator Ann Fritz, has coordinated this bi-enniel opportunity for teachers to showcase their talents for several years while providing exhibition opportunity for their students in the alternating years.

The exhibit is in the Savannah Center, at Indiana University Northwest Gallery of Contemporary Art through June 24.
