Time Running out for Early Registration to OE Marathon Team

Runners wishing to register for the Opportunity Enterprises Marathon Team are encouraged to do so soon. The team will begin training in June to run in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Oct. 11. The early-bird registration will not be available much longer. This special price includes a $50 registration fee, along with a commitment to raise an additional $250 for OE.

Once the Bank of America Chicago Marathon closes open registration, which is expected to happen during the month of April, the registration fee increases to $125 with a commitment to raise an additional $275 for Opportunity Enterprises.

Carey Pinkowski, who has served as Executive Race Director of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon since 1990, spoke at OE on April 14.  In his 18-year tenure, he has grown the event to one of the largest marathons in the world with 45,000 runners representing all 50 states and more than 100 foreign countries each year.

During his presentation, Pinkowski shared stories about his experiences with the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and the challenges and victories he has gone through during his years with the race.

“The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is an event that changes people and changes lives,” Pinkowski said. “One of the most vital ways we achieve that is by working with more than 100 charities to build teams of fundraising runners. As one of our longest-standing charity partners Opportunity Enterprises is a leader in fundraising through this event and we look forward to continuing this partnership and growing our field of charity runners through their involvement.”
