TJMS-12th_Place_Team_2011The TJMS Science Olympiad team competed at Nationals on May 21st at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Since 1988, TJ has placed second or higher every year at state competition. This year was TJ's 19th state title and 22nd consecutive year to go to the national competition. 2nd place finishes in recent years have allowed the teams to attend the national competition as well. TJ won nationals in 1993 and 1996, while placing second in 2000, 2003, and 2005. TJ placed 3rd in 2001 and 2002, and 4th in 1999 and 2004.

The teams average place at Nationals over the past 22 years is 8.5 place out of 60 teams that make it that far every year. "We are very proud of the commitment, effort, behavior, and performance of our team this year. Great job!" stated Science Olympiad Coach Richard Bender.
