He holds a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and a juris doctor and masters of International Commerce & Policy Degree from Valparaiso University.

During the Chamber's March 6 Sunrise Seminar, Castleton will share his experiences and expertise on a range of employment issues, including his "Top Ten Tips" for how employers should hire, fire and maintain employment relationships within the letter and spirit of the law.

Richard-Castleton"A significant majority of business owners don't know what the law says," said Castleton. "It's difficult to take advantage of what the law offers you – and avoid circumstances that could land you in trouble – if you aren't aware of your own rights and the rights of your employees."

For business owners who may feel overwhelmed at overhauling inadequate systems that have been in place for years, Castleton offered the following encouragement: "Just because you haven't done something right in the past doesn't mean that you can't start now. Putting forth a good-faith effort for compliance can't be overstated if an issue does arise."

Please call the Duneland Chamber of Commerce at 219.926.5513 or email info@dunelandchamber.org to register for this free seminar. The favor of an RSVP is requested.
