The Summer Rhapsody Music Festival Offers 10 Free Summer Concerts!

Kicking off in 2011 with the opening of the Central Park Plaza, the Summer Rhapsody Music Festival produced a full run this summer, with ten free concerts held at the new amphitheatre. The season began and ended with concerts performed by the Summer Rhapsody Orchestra, the first a John Williams review and the second featuring popular movie and musical tunes.

Valparaiso Community Festivals and Events once again held their annual Winter Dazzle event. The festival featured the first live ice carving competition, along with horse-drawn wagon rides and miniature ice golf.

The Valpo Parks Foundation entertained the community with their Party in the Park, featuring the Valpo Voice Sing-Off! Local celebrities headlined this unique fundraiser, which raised money to build shelters at Butterfly Meadow Playground.

High end fashion met bargain prices at the first Little Black Dress Party, hosted by Chicago Street Theatre and the Bargain Barn. The evening featured a fashion show, with Bargain Barn styles, and a costume upcycle competition.

Springtime brought the Beatles to County Line Orchard, in this annual concert event. Musical entertainment for the evening included Chris & Lou, The Crawpuppies, and The MEGABEATLES.
