The Invisible Project: Homelessness in Porter County does not conform to traditional assumptions about who experiences homelessness and why it occurs. The Invisible Project makes visible local stories of homelessness through first-person stories, infographics, and art. The Invisible Project is the result of a partnership between Valparaiso University’s Welcome Project and Professor Yeohyun Ahn’s Graduate Digital Media Class; the Porter County Coalition for Affordable Housing; Housing Opportunities; Gabriel’s Horn; and Dayspring Women’s Center. The Invisible Project exhibit includes student work from Professor Yeohyun Ahn’s graphic design course in Valparaiso University’s graduate digital media program (Comm 598, Fall 2015). As art director of student design, Professor Ahn worked closely with students throughout the year to create pieces for the Invisible Project exhibit. Students selected for inclusion in the exhibit and/or catalogue include: Shiqi Guo, Zhisheng Hao, Patricia Andrews Jarosz, Rob Lee, Neaz Mustafa, Ge Qin, Zhiying Ruan, Ning Shen, Sarhang Sherwany, Zhen Tong, Yixi (Rosie) Wang, Jake Wulbert, Wanlu Zhou, and Zihan Zhu.
