United Way of Porter County announces Scott Casbon as new 2020 Campaign Chair

Porter County, Indiana – United Way of Porter County has named Scott Casbon, vice president of commercial lending at First Merchants Bank, as this year’s United Way Campaign Chair.

Annually United Way selects individuals who are passionate about helping their community to lead fundraising efforts. The campaign chair serves as the face of United Way and leads a volunteer team to coordinate giving activities and share United Way’s impact story.

“With the significant challenge thrust upon our community by the current pandemic, the importance of the work provided by United Way of Porter County has never been highlighted more. Our United Way touches so many lives through so many valuable programs and it does so in a manner that is hard to replicate,” said Scott Casbon, vice president at First Merchants Bank. “This is the reason that I am honored to be asked to serve as the Chair for this year’s campaign. Together we can accomplish great things in spite of the adversity facing us.”

In 2019, United Way provided more than $2.3 million in support through their investment program to support volunteer, education, health and financial stability services. They support more than 200 Northwest Indiana nonprofits and mobilize more than 8,000 volunteers in the work they do.

“We are thrilled to have Scott at the helm guiding our team this year,” says Kim Olesker, president and CEO of United Way of Porter County. “Through his leadership, community generosity and our commitment, we look to do great things in the midst of tragedy. We are stronger together.”
