Update – Porter County 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness

Unmet Need Study – in process. Objective is to analyze Porter County’s current inventory of emergency, transitional, permanent supportive and affordable housing vs the need for housing. This will give us a quantifiable housing target. All data requested by the consultants has been provided. Meeting with consultants the week of Aug 18 to determine next steps and timeline to completion.

REO Contacts – information provided to CAH members on Wells Fargo’s process to donate foreclosed homes, and the National Community Stabilization Trust (NCST), which facilitates donation of foreclosed homes by the big banks.

Microsoft Class for Clients – in process. Working with the Center for Workforce Innovations to offer a basic Microsoft workshop to homeless clients. IVY Tech is providing computer lab space for the class. Targeting this fall for the workshop.

Legal Assistance – feedback from agencies is there is a need for pro bono assistance with expungement and bankruptcy. In discussion with local law firms on next steps.
