Valparaiso 4th of July Blast

The 4th of July Blast in Valparaiso could not have had a more perfect night for this years celebration.  The City of Valparaiso, Valpo Parks, and Valparaiso Community Festivals & Events celibrated perhaps the best 4th of July celebration that Valparaiso has ever had.

The night included the Posting of Colors and Mayor Costas led the Pledge of Allegiance.  For the first time this year, several Valparaiso residents were chosen to read parts of the Declaration of Independence which was a nice touch to this festive evening.

Mayor Costas's and his band "The Conservadellics" performed a wide variety of song for some musical entertainment. The Valparaiso High School Band began their night by playing the National Anthem, and then many different wonderful pieces as the crowd sat on their blankets and lawn chairs.

Several vendors were available selling festive souvenirs and fun treats like ice-cream and shaved ice. The evening was concluded by a magnificent show of fireworks presented by Melrose Pyrotechnics, Inc.
