Valparaiso Announces Road Closures to Install Sanitary Sewers in 2015

Valparaiso-Vibrant-VisionaryThe City of Valparaiso is informing the community of upcoming road closures in the Evans Avenue area from July 20th to August 19th as sanitary sewers are being installed for the upcoming Lakes of Valparaiso project. The closure will include Evans Avenue between the west side of Bartz Road to the west side of Pine Creek Drive, including Pine Creek Drive. Bartz Road will be open during this time. Traffic will be detoured using Bartz Road, Vale Park Road and Silhavy Road. The Pine Creek subdivision will remain accessible via Emma Court.

“We’re working with Dyer Construction to complete this project and have their assurance that the work will be completed as expeditiously as possible to minimize the inconvenience for residents and drivers,” said Matt Evans, Valparaiso’s Public Works Director. “We will have clearly marked detour routes in place and have been working closely with the contractor and emergency personnel to ensure roadways remain safe and residences are easily accessible,” he said.

The Lakes of Valparaiso is a 146-acre development just east of Ind. 49, between Vale Park Road and Evans Avenue. The project includes upscale apartments, a business park, commercial development, and abundant green space. “While we’d like to minimize the disruption caused by this construction, we welcome the growth and jobs that the Lakes of Valparaiso project represents,” said Mayor Jon Costas.
