Valparaiso Awarded $25,000 at America’s Best Communities Summit

Fresh from the recent America's Best Communities Summit in Durham, North Carolina, Valparaiso has been awarded $25,000 to put towards their Creative District Plan.

Valparaiso was one of 15 communities that were selected to present their pitch for a shot at earning the $3,000,000 top prize.

These funds will be used to continue the goal of moving forward with the Creative District Plan for Valparaiso.

During the summit presentation, Mayor Jon Costas, Planning Director Tyler Kent, and Jessica Corral, Art Teacher at Flint Lake Elementary School presented a proposal that allowed Valparaiso to earn this award from America's Best Communities.
