Valparaiso Boys & Girls Club Announces Registration Dates for Fall Basketball

Valpo-BasketballBoys & Girls Clubs of Porter County-Valparaiso Club, will open registration for their Fall Basketball league beginning Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Registration will remain open through September 7, 2012. The basketball program puts emphasis on fun, fair play, sportsmanship and skill development. The league is open to boys and girls ages 5-14. There are a limited number of available spots for each age division.

Online registration is available at anytime between August 21, 2012 and September 7, 2012. In person registration is available at the Club during those same dates on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Club is located at 354 W. Jefferson St. in Valparaiso, IN. Early registration is encouraged as divisions do fill quickly.

All players must be Club members. Boys & Girls Club of Porter County offers affordable annual memberships. Membership fees are $35.00 per child effective August 22, 2012. Save $10.00 off the membership fee and pay only $25.00 per child before August 22, 2012. Financial aid for membership and league fees are available for those who qualify. League fees are $20.00 for the 5-7 year old division, $30.00 for the 8-9 year old and 10-11 year old divisions, and $35.00 for 12-14 year old division. All players receive a team t-shirt. Children who are five years old must be enrolled and attend Kindergarten. Children who are 14 years old must be in 8th grade or below.

Players will enjoy the extensive renovations recently made to the gymnasium at the Club in Valparaiso including new bleachers and a new floor. Practices will start the week of September 24, 2012 with games beginning the following week.
