The Valparaiso High School boys' tennis team defeated the Portage Indians 4-1 on Tuesday, advancing their conference record to 7-0 on the season and locking up the Duneland Athletic Conference regular season title in the process.
In singles action, the Vikings made quick work of Portage, with Ben Kalisch (6-0, 6-1), Marty Pochop (6-0, 6-1), and Eric Cender (6-1, 6-0) each picking up impressive victories for the 10-2 Vikings.
In doubles action, the duo of Jared Folke and Peter Williams took down their opponents 6-1, 6-4, while the team of Domi Szabo and Noah Klumpe fell 6-0, 6-1.
Tuesday wrapped up the VHS boys' tennis home slate for the season, as the Vikings have three away meets before the Sectional tournament begins on September 26th.
