Valparaiso is turning into a winter wonderland as a part of the Winter Dazzle brought to you by the Valparaiso Community Festivals and Events Group. The excitement began on Friday, February 5, with live ice carving in front of David's Binder's, and Old World Market.
Early in the day 9,000 pounds of ice were delivered to various locations throughout downtown. Members of the Michiana Ice Carvers Association and a few local talents (Chefs Dave Hemdal and Kevin Pedersen, Strongbow, and Chef Tim O'Rourke, Old Towne Banquet Center) carved more than 20 blocks of ice. The sculptures will be on display as long as the weather permits.
Friday evening, there was also carving done in front of Pikk's. Bistro 157, and Bon Femme.
The fun didn't stop there! Ice skating was available through the 15th in Central Park Plaza.
