The Valparaiso Diversity Network Association invites members and the community to a Unity Day Celebration. The VDNA plans to celebrate the diverse mix of races, cultures and backgrounds at a relaxed, informal setting in the city of Valparaiso.

The Unity Day Celebration is scheduled for noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, and will be held at the Porter County Courthouse Square, at the corner of Lincolnway and Washington Street in downtown Valparaiso.

The community is invited to bring a picnic or purchase food from local businesses, listen to local bands and share their stories of the importance of inclusion in the community.

Local artists are invited to submit a piece of original art with the theme of “Unity” for display at the festival. Participants will be asked to complete a participation form by April 21, 2011. Artists of all ages are welcome. For more information or to fill out a VDNA Art Participation Form, stop by rTrail Collective Edge at 54 Lincolnway, Valparaiso, IN 46383.
