On Friday’s Day of Caring, there was also a whole lot of love shared in Valpo’s Hilltop Neighborhood.
Both raise funds for the community. That special day, they combined their treasures to give to several school age children ready to attend kindergarten thru 7th grade. Their joint effort allowed them to donate 30 backpacks to be filled with previously donated school supplies.
Sunrise Kiwanis president, Carol Short, stated, “Kiwanis is all about kids. We host several fundraisers annually so we can help in many ways. Giving to the kids and families of Hilltop Neighborhood is one of our local favorites. It’s terrific teaming with our Valpo fire department in this pre-school venture to get the kids off to a good start!”
