The Valparaiso High School Drama Club’s motto is to inspire, nurture and cultivate the area’s youth in the creative field of theater.
The VHS Drama Club Summer Camp classes are designed to inspire children and give children the opportunity to discover the best in themselves both on stage and in everyday life.
VHS Drama Club classes offer skills on stage that will help with: presence, focus, projection and expression at the same time, helping children build within themselves: Confidence, Discipline, Commitment and Teamwork.
All classes will participate in a variety of acting exercises and have the opportunity to perform for family, friends and the community on the Valparaiso High School stage with simple costumes, set, props, sound and lights.
“This is the first time in the history of the VHS Drama Club to offer such a camp.” Michele Craig, Valparaiso High School Drama Club Director. “ It is a thrill to be able to continue my passion as a Children’s Theater director and provide the area youth to the world of theater. I am equally excited to be working with the High School Drama Club members and give them the skills to better understand theater from performance, show production, stage management, lighting, sound, set, costumes and directing. It’s such a great opportunity for everyone in the community.”

Stage Stars: Pre-School
Ages 4-6
9am-9:45am
3 days a week (TUES, WED, THURS)
10 students minimum/25 maximum $150.00

MUSICAL: A Barnyard Moosical
In A Barnyard Moosical, a hilarious and imaginative mini-musical, we meet a unique and talented group of animals living at this unusual farm.

3 days a week (TUES, WED, THURS)
10 students minimum/25 maximum $150.00

MUSICAL: It’s A Jungle Out There
King Leo is a victim of the corporate jungle! He has money, power, and fame, but he still has not found happiness. His trusty servants, Spot and Stripes, ever loyal to the King, begin a quest for the key to happiness. Do the monkeys have the answer? Or maybe the hyenas? Perhaps the secret lies with the elephants. Who knows?

MUSICAL: Adventures of a Comic Book Artist
Hysterical singing superheroes and dancing villains bring to life this action-packed musical spoof of the comic book genre. PERFROMANCE DATE: Saturday, July 14th @ 2pm

The Students will be focusing on a scripted musical show.
Stage Stars School Age Sr.
Provides actor training for students
(Ages 11-14)
The Students will be focusing on a scripted musical show. They will work vocal director, choreographer and show director.
