Valparaiso High School Girls Basketball Kicks Off Season Opener November 8th

Valparaiso girls’ basketball is ready to begin its 37th competitive season. After six weeks this summer, in which there were 65 games played, and six weeks this fall of conditioning the green and white is ready to put all their hard work to a test. The coaching staff would like to thank all our players for their commitment and hard work as well as all the parents for their support and sacrifice. We hope to see you in the stands all year!

Per tradition, all five seniors on this year’s squad will serve as captains for the 2011-2012 basketball season. Katherine Berning (1 varsity letter), Clarisse Fletcher (2 varsity letters), Laura Ferrari (1 varsity letter), Amber Klein, and Jess Villagran will be the floor captains. Berning, Fletcher, and Ferrari all saw significant action on last year’s squad.

The Vikings' first home game is November 8th as the Vikings host the Kankakee Valley Kougars! This meeting will be the 20th all time between the schools. Valparaiso holds a 19-0 advantage over the Kougars. Valparaiso won last year’s contest 46-39.
