Valparaiso High School Junior Ahmad Aljobeh is heading to the State Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, IN this coming Saturday. Ahmad has ran varsity all season for Valpo Cross Country. His parents, Eman & Zuhdi, and coaches Mike Prow and Aaron Crague are very pleased with how Ahmad has been running this year.
Ahmad has always placed well within in the top 15 XC runners all season. One XC runner that has been running "neck & neck" with Ahmad all season is, Mitch Hubner from LaPorte. At Regionals just last week, Mitch placed 1st with a time of 15:50 while Ahmad placed 4th with a time of 16:15. At Semi-State Ahmad placed 3rd with a time of 15:45 while Mitch placed 5th with a time of 15:53. The boys have faced off more than once this season and now they will both have the chance to battle it out once again at State. These boys have displayed excellent sportsmanship all season and will, no doubt, congratulate the other once again at State. With times so close, it makes watching Cross Country very exciting. This will be a very exciting competition with boys like Valpo's Ahmad Aljobeh and LaPorte's Mitch Hubner battling it out for the win.
