Valparaiso Parks New Ranger Camp

Now especially for tweens!  The Valparaiso Department of Parks and Recreation has created a new Ranger Camp program!  The goal of Ranger Camp is to foster and develop growth in areas of leadership, environmental stewardship, community service and future careers.  To achieve this goal the camp will set out on a variety of adventures this summer exploring these different areas of development.  The campers will participate in community volunteer opportunities such as developing a donation drive for a local charity of their choice.  They will also explore future careers through visiting local businesses such as Porter County Airport, Police and Fire Departments, Aspen Photography studio, WVLP and many others.  Rangers will develop their skills as environmental stewards by planting and maintaining their own community garden.

The campers will participate weekly in many fun, traditional camp activities such as team building challenges, games, hiking and more.
