The Valparaiso Police Department is issuing a traffic alert this afternoon for downtown Valparaiso. Tonight the Downtown Fall Festival begins. Starting at 4pm roads in the downtown area will be closing for the annual downtown trick or treat event. The event will last until 6pm when the roadways will re-open.
Starting at 4:00 p.m. Lincolnway at Lafayette St and Michigan Ave will be closed. Franklin St will be closed for southbound traffic at Jefferson St and Lafayette St southbound from Lincolnway will be closed. Motorist should expect delays in the downtown area as large crowds are expected this afternoon.
Please use caution while driving in the downtown area during this time as large numbers of children are expected in these areas.
