Valparaiso Police have now completed working the recent Operation Pull Over Blitz titled “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over”. The blitz was scheduled from August 21st through September 7th which included this past Labor Day weekend.
Valparaiso Police Officers worked a total of 56 hours of evening and earlier morning patrols seeking motorists under the influence and/or driving in an aggressive manner. During the blitz period officers initiated 124 traffic stops and issued numerous citations. A total of seven individuals were arrested as a result of the traffic stops. The arrests where for driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license and for narcotic charges.
The blitz was funded through the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
