Valparaiso Police Participating in 33rd Annual National Night Out

Valparaiso-Police-Department-National-Night-Out-Collage-2016The Valparaiso Police Department will be participating in the 33rd annual National Night Out on Tuesday August 2nd from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. National Night Out is an national event designed to unite community members and police against neighborhood crimes.

Police Chief Michael Brickner is inviting community members to organize an activity for the event. “This is a great night for community members, neighborhoods and crime watch groups to organize special activities in their neighborhoods”, explained Chief Brickner. Valparaiso Police Officers will be visiting the special activities planned in each neighborhood to show their support. Officers from the K-9 team, Bicycle Unit, Patrol Division and Detective Division will be present in neighborhoods to show their support. Previous National Night Out events have been a great success and we always look forward to visiting all the events planned, explained Chief Brickner. This is the 12th year the Valparaiso Police Department has participated in National Night Out.

Start planning your activities today and notify the police department of your involvement. In previous years neighborhoods have planned cook-outs, ice cream socials and live music.
