The Valparaiso Police would like to remind all that students return back to school on Wednesday. Motorist should reduce speeds while traveling through school zones and expect additional traffic both vehicle and foot traffic in the areas around all schools.
Crossing guards will be present in and around school zones and motorists should be alert to the crossing guards.
Police officers will be present throughout school zones enforcing traffic violations and securing student’s safety as they arrive to school and depart school.
Reminder to motorists that speed limits in school zones while amber lights are flashing is reduced to 20 mph. Reduce speeds and help keep all students safe as they return to school and throughout the school year. If suspicious activity is observed do not hesitate to contact police (dial 911).
