The Valparaiso Adult Education Learning Center is pleased to offer several remedial skills training classes at two locations in Valparaiso—at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church at 505 Bullseye Lake Road and Walt’s Place-Hilltop 2 at 554 Locust Street.
The free classes include Adult Basic Education (ABE), which addresses basic skill needs, e.g., reading, writing, language, and math; General Educational Development (GED) Preparation for those students wanting to prepare to pass the exam for the GED diploma; and English as a Second Language (ESL) for non-English speaking adults, providing English language instruction along with practical skills for everyday personal, social, and working situations.
Classes are free; however, require a one-time annual $20 administrative fee to cover books and materials/supplies.
Registration will take place the week of September 12th, between the hours of 9:00am-1:00 p.m. on Monday through Thursday at St. Andrew’s and Monday and Wednesday from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Walt’s Place.
