The Valparaiso University Football Team recently visited the Hilltop Too Walt’s Place After School Program to talk about the importance of school and keeping your grades up to play on organized sports teams for both High School and College. The meeting was followed by a pickup game of touch football.
Walt’s Place is a free afterschool program for children living in the Hilltop Neighborhood of Valparaiso. Children receive a free meal, then one on one tutoring things to Title 1 finds from Valparaiso Community Schools and after homework is done the participate in recreational activities. There are currently 67 children enrolled and all programs are free of charge for all families.
