Valparaiso University hosts its 11th Annual Event to benefit Children’s Miracle Hospital Networks

Valparaiso University Dance Marathon will be hosting their 11th annual Dance Marathon event at the University’s campus on Saturday, April 1 starting at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 10:00 p.m. Valparaiso University Dance Marathon is an entirely student-led organization at Valpo and for the past decade has raised money for children receiving care at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, a CMN Hospital. At last year’s Dance Marathon event, Valparaiso University raised a record breaking number of over $74,000. Over the past ten years Valpo’s Dance Marathon has raised over a half of a million dollars for CMN Hospitals.

Valparaiso University students work throughout the academic year to plan and host events to directly benefit kids receiving care at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Their work typically culminates yearly on the first Saturday of April at their 12-hour-long main event, at what they call the “Dance Marathon.”

"We have some very exciting things planned for this years’ Dance Marathon and we can’t wait to see it all come together. I am very proud of our team for working hard to make improvements to create the most enjoyable experience while remaining rooted in what we stand for, which is to Change Kids’ Health and Change the Future!" says Overall Director, Sally Hagen.

The event is restricted to Valparaiso University students, staff and alumni, but the public is invited to follow along via Valpo Dance Marathon’s social media accounts @valpodm. Visit valpodm.com for more information and to support the program’s fundraising efforts.
