Valparaiso University’s New Strategic Plan Gets Nod from Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of Valparaiso University has approved the school's bold and ambitious five-year strategic plan, titled “Uplift Valpo: Our Beacon for the Journey Forward.”

President José D. Padilla, J.D., appointed in December, 2020, led a collaborative and comprehensive year-long process to review and renew the University's strategic priorities, goals, and direction for the future.

President Padilla sent a letter to all faculty and staff this week announcing the approval, outlining the key initiatives, and encouraging continued involvement of faculty and staff.

The process included a broad range of constituent engagement and feedback, leveraging open discussions with faculty, staff, alumni, students, and other groups that informed the plan's strategic initiatives.

Phase I of the plan's implementation will be developed in the coming weeks, at which time specific priority projects will be decided upon and launched. Regular updates, timelines, an implementation status dashboard, and regular in-person question-and-answer sessions will keep the campus and wider community informed about specific projects and next steps.
