The 2012 Valparaiso Vikings 9U Baseball Travel Team improved their record to 13-6-1 over the weekend with a 1st Place Finish in the Michigan City, IN — Patriot Park Karsten’s BPA Baseball Tournament. The boys earned the #1 Seed, going 3-0 defeating the Indiana Playmakers 10-4, the Niles Vikings 14-9, and the Monticello Tribe 11-1.
In the Championship Game, the boys defeated the Indiana Playmakers 9-7. Kyle Lawrence was the winning pitcher and Cooper Jones got the save and game ball honors. Prior to this Tournament Championship, The 9U Vikings were 3rd in the State of Indiana in BPA Points, and with this 1st place finish, it may well put them 1st in the state midway through the season.
