Valparaiso’s Own Competing to Become the Biggest Loser

Courtney-Crozier-and-CheyNew year, new resolutions usually means a new resolve to lose weight and get in shape. For some this merely means a change in diet or a new exercise routine. But for Courtney Crozier and her mother Marci, their resolution to lose weight has meant something more: becoming the “Biggest Loser.”

A 2007 graduate of Valparaiso High School, Courtney made the decision to change her life at age 21 and started the journey towards losing weight after realizing life wasn’t bringing her the enjoyment she wanted. She began the journey to become the “Biggest Loser” and lost over 100 pounds on her own! Knowing her journey was far from over, Courtney applied to be on “The Biggest Loser”, one of NBC’s most popular reality TV shows. Courtney and Marci joined the 2011 season as the Aqua Team, in the latest couples edition of “The Biggest Loser.”

Courtney-and-MarciStarting out at 323 and 238 pounds respectively, Courtney and Marci knew they had a long road ahead of them. Now two weeks into the season, both ladies have lost 55 lbs between the two of them, kicking off their journey with a bang. Positivity accompanied by a strong mental state of mind emanates from the Aqua ladies and their infectious personalities have spread encouragement among the rest of the teams. In Courtney’s words, “The biggest message I personally want to send to everyone with this opportunity that I've been given is that you do NOT need a show, a ranch, or world class trainers to CHANGE YOUR LIFE! I got so incredibly lucky to be on the BL, but it's to finish what I had already started!! I lost the majority of my weight at home, on my own, because I WANTED it!! One day, one choice, one step at a time!”

Cheer on Courtney and Marci as they fight to be the Biggest Loser every Tuesday night at 7 pm on NBC!
