July 20th on the Valpo American JRs played at Portage 6pm against South Haven. It was a tough game. They had scored only four runs and that was enough to beat them in a shutout 4-0. This was the Championship game to win District 1 which is Northwest Indiana. Valpo American JRs went undefeated in the semifinals.
Coming up, the Valpo American JRs will be going up against visiting teams from all over Indiana as the Portage LLB Complex will be hosting the Jr. State Finals which are 13/14 year olds. The first game will be 8pm on Thursday July 25th with 5 returning players from last year. This is the Valpo American JRs’ second attempt to state as they won last year as well in district -1.
