The Valparaiso High School baseball team fell in a tough road game against DAC opponent Chesterton High School.
The Trojans got off to a hot start, going up 3-0 after two innings. The Vikings scored one run in each of the fourth and fifth innings, but that was all the offense the Vikings could muster on the afternoon.
Devin Bafia struck out six in six innings of work, giving up 2 earned runs on four hits and walked five. CJ Gear went 2-for-2 at the plate with one run scored. Bafia and Renee Lozano each etched one RBI for Valpo.
The JV team also fell by one, 3-2, while the freshman team won 6-0.
