On January 12, 2013, the Valparaiso Speech and Debate team went to Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. The team overall received 4th place.
In Congress, Maddy Wellman was in 6th place and Dana Khabbaz.
In public forum, John Miller and Nika Pniak received 6th place and Kelly Adams and Luma Khabbaz were in 5th place.
In policy debate, Elizabeth Wehren and Audrey Porter got 10th place.
