The Valparaiso High School boys golf team placed second in a three-team DAC meet, falling to LaPorte 155-162, but defeated Chesterton 162-180 at Sand Creek Country Club.
LaPorte’s Jon Gardner shot an even-par 36 to finish as the meet’s top scorer, followed by teammate Taalor Corley’s 38. Two Vikings, Bobby Jacobs and Kyle Heihofer each placed third with a score of 39. Rounding out the top 5 was a tie at 40 with Valpo’s Logan Bertalan and LaPorte’s Joel Collins.
